Concealed Weapons Permits
Attention Applicants

To apply for a statewide concealed handgun permit, most applicants are required to take a state-certified training course taught by

NRA and state-certified instructors.  Our instructors are certified by both the NRA and Louisiana State Police, and are experienced Police

Firearms Instructors.``The course we offer is certified by the Louisiana State Police.  The course is generally held on specific Saturdays and begins at 8:30 AM and generally ends around 4:00 PM.  Classes can be scheduled over several weeknights, warranted by demand.  Further, corporate training is available where one of our instructors will come to your place of business after hours and train your group-a minimum number of students is required.  The course will cover nomenclature of revolvers, semi-automatics, and single-action revolvers-- how they work, how to make them safe, sight picture and alignment and dominant eye.  We next go to the range for live-fire training.  A minimum of 50 rounds is required.  (Ammunition may be purchased at the range.)  However, since this is generally a lot of fun foreveryone, most folks find themselves shooting more than this.

The afternoon finds you back in the classroom, where you will study:

  • Use of Deadly Force
  • Louisiana Law and Handguns
  • Firearms Cleaning and Maintenance
  • Child Access Prevention
  • NRA title: Avoiding Violent Confrontations

Upon successful completion of the course, you are awarded a graduation certificate which proves to the LSP you have received the basic

training required to apply for a permit.  The course is a well-thought out, enjoyable introduction to handgun and

personal safety, suitable for almost any age except for the very young-- in fact, many family groups take it with us.

We also advise and assist you in applying for your application, and proper completion of the paperwork once you have received it.

Passport photos are available at a very reasonable price.  If you have any further questions about the course, or application process, please feel free to call:  Gordon Hutchinson, Instructor......225-335-1571  or Email (preferred) ghhutchinson@gmail.com
